For fragile old failed veneer a syringe is used with hide glue and a caul that has been heated on an iron...this will also re activate the existing hide glue on this piece..

What a mess!.....terrible previous restoration work will make my job more difficult...lots of failed veneer, incorrect restoration materials,poorly applied color work and shellac, broken columns on what will be a beautiful piece..
